Solution


Join the denominators.
\[\frac{x-7}{5}=2\]
Multiply both sides by \(5\).
\[x-7=2\times 5\]
Simplify  \(2\times 5\)  to  \(10\).
\[x-7=10\]
Add \(7\) to both sides.
\[x=10+7\]
Simplify  \(10+7\)  to  \(17\).
\[x=17\]
